Faucet Water Filter Reviews

Gone are the days when one can just kneel on the side of the river or a creek and take a drink from the waters that run through its banks.  No one knows what kind of places the water passed through in its long journey throughout the land.

 For all the threats and hazards to health that it might impose, one has to make sure that the water they drink comes from places with faucet water filters.  Water filters actually are divided into two categories. 

 These categories are:

  • Point of use faucet water filters
  • Point of entry faucet water filters.

 Depending on which kind of filter is used, it can bring an improvement to the taste and odor that water in a household has.  Mainly, kitchen water filters go under the point of use division.  This means that they filter water in a specific location which is the kitchen sink.  Various attachments like pitchers, dispensers or containers can be connected to the faucet itself for water storage. 

 In other cases, there are faucet mountain models and under sink models which are permanently installed.  Point of use water filters make use of carbon filters to absorb impurities in the water and most especially odor that the water might have.  There are reverse osmosis systems that also have semi permeable membranes attached to them so that filtering is more aggressively done.  These parts can remove nitrates, arcenic and other contaminants.

 The other kind of the water filter is the point of entry kind.  This filters the water supply of the entire house.  They can be installed in the basement or outside to stop dirt, sediment and rest from clogging the waterways.  But to ensure clean and safe drinking water, point of use filters is still needed in a house.
